TSC developed STAP techniques to process GMTI surveillance radar data under Navy, DARPA and AFRL sponsored research and development programs for application to next-generation airborne surveillance platforms. STAP is a critical component of the radar design for canceling interference from clutter and jamming.
TSC also developed interferometric techniques to estimate the terrain elevation directly from GMTI data to benefit knowledge-aided STAP algorithms. By nulling out clutter at specific 3-D locations, the STAP algorithms offer improved performance against ground moving targets. TSC has also developed the capability to simulate radar data cubes with high fidelity to evaluate end-to-end STAP performance for next generation systems. This includes an efficient and accurate way to model wind-blown clutter.
