Global Communications, Navigation, and Surveillance System (GCNSS)

TSC is
a key member of the GCNSS program on the Systems Engineering and the
Tools, Models, and Scenarios FAA teams. The GCNSS effort is a joint
program between the FAA and Boeing Air Traffic Management (ATM). It
was established in order to explore and develop next-generation CNS/ATM
concepts and demonstrate the application of space-based CNS technologies
to enhance capacity, efficiency, and security of air travel in the National
Airspace System (NAS). TSC’s participation in this effort includes
the following:
- Performance
of requirements verification
- Review
of design documents
- Analysis
of trade studies in conjunction with other FAA organizations and MITRE
- Scenario
Development lead for the Tools, Models, and Scenarios Group
- Benefits
and Cost Analysis lead for the Systems Engineering Group
- Review
of the ATM Tools, Models and Scenarios (TMS) Team Execution Plan (TEP),
and a draft of the “Final Approach Throughput Sensitivity Analysis
using a Regional Traffic Model” report
- Review
of the programmatic approach and verification that the NAS and FAA
Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) and Solicitation of Work (SOW)
requirements are being addressed by Boeing ATM.
- Review
of the ATM Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP), the Requirements
Document, and the Secure Systems Methodology Document (SSMD)
