Customers

TSC has a large and diverse customer base. Most have been our customers for many years. We pride ourselves in providing outstanding service to all TSC’s customers. Our largest customer is the U.S. Navy who funds 37% of our programs. We support most Navy Surface Ship radar programs such as AEGIS, Dual Band Radar, Air and Missile Defense Radar, and Legacy Radars (AN/SPS-48, AN/SPS-49, AN/SPQ-9B, etc.). The Navy is the largest customer for the Indiana, Virginia, and Washington Operations.

Our Army contracts primarily consist of equipment design, development, and test and comprised 16% of the company’s FY 09 revenues. We also provide analyses and radar modeling and siting software to the Army. TSC Army Programs include the Semi-Active Seeker, Light Weight Counter Mortar Radar, and the Extended Area Protection and Survivability System. The Army is the Alabama Operations largest customer.

The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) provides 15.6% of TSC revenues. This work includes almost all of MagnaCom’s funding. Much of this work is related to the GMD program and includes test planning and evaluation related work and modeling and simulation. The MDA also funds AEGIS BMD. Additionally, TSC performs sophisticated algorithm development for BMD discrimination through Small Business Innovation Research projects.

The Air Force Research Laboratories in Dayton, OH, Albuquerque, NM, and Rome, NY provide much of TSC’s Air Force funding, including airborne and space borne radar studies and synthetic aperture radar work. This 7.1% of TSC revenues includes radar processing algorithm development, and work related to countering Improvised Explosive Devices.

Commercial work through industry now comprises 6.6% of TSC revenues. This work includes many hardware projects, such as radar test equipment, microwave and processor design and development, and electronic circuit boards and assemblies. Contracts from companies like Lockheed, SRCTech, and Raytheon have caused this commercial segment of TSC revenues to grow into a significant portion of our business.

The Marine Corps provided 5.5% of FY 09 revenues. Our Stafford, VA Office, as part of Virginia Operations, is the focal point of this work. However, several of the Operations, including Indiana and Washington, work on Marine Corps contracts.

Other Government Customers provide 12.2% of TSC revenue. These customers include the Federal Aviation Administration, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, certain classified customers, and Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization.

TSC continued to participate in the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, which provides funding for small companies to develop technology for the Defense and the commercial business sectors. In FY 09, we had 30 active SBIR programs accounting for over 7% of our revenues.
